The FEH, with the collaboration of the “Secretaria de Estado de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales”, took on the task of recording the information correspondent at 14 of the most important caves of the Dominican Republic, including detailed descriptions, photos and maps.

This task took the members of FEH over a year. The idea came from “Secretaria de Estado de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales” Sr. Fank Moya Pons, after the FEH petitioned to take measure in the protection and conservation of the underwater cave systems.

The object of the book is to inform the public of the natural resources that constitute the underwater caves as a first step in the creation of rules to regulate the use of these systems and at the same time secure their preservation.

The book consists of 138 pages, 80 photographs and 6 maps, in full color.
